Supernaturals Demographics

“Special quote..”

We might consider the rough, average ratio of humans to Supernaturals to be something like … Mage KindredUratha

The total number of “Supernaturals” should be less than what is described in the IP, or at most equal to 1-2% of the Human Population. Breakdown by Country is given in Global Demographics. These are all rough, approximate numbers…

  • Kindred have a ratio of 1:20,000 humans max to a 50:000 average.
  • Uratha have a ratio of 1:200,000 average.
  • Mage ratio of 1:1,00,000 means about 7,000 Mages in world right now.

With 7 billion humans or 7,000 million humans

The low numbers are due to the decline of many of the SPLATs such as :-

  • The widespread hunting and culling of vampires by the Inquisition and the rise of the Times of Reason.
  • Uratha were slaughtered almost to extinction with the rise of both Vampire & Mortal civilisations and the culling of the rainforests and globalisation of the world and love of exploration.
  • Magic has been getting tougher to use and less Mages awaken now.
Type Ratio Global Population Reasons Why?
Petty Mage 1:5,000 1,500,000 People always seem to shine with something…

Ghouls 1:50,000 150,000 Only a limited number can practically be supported.
Shapeshifters 1:150,000 100,000 Less than 20,000 are other than Wolves.
Lupines 1:100,000 85,000 Over half are Pure who are winning.
Uratha 1:200,000 38,000 Wars and Industrialisation killing them off.

Mummys 1:10,000,000 800 Almost 1000 perhaps.

Others 1: Unknown People always seem to have something

1:100,000,000 – 75
1:10,000,000 – 750
1:5,000,000 – 3,750
1:1,000,000 – 7,500
1:500,000 – 15,000
1:250,000 – 30,000
1:200,000 – 38,000
1:100,000 – 75,000
1:50,000 – 150,000
1:25,000 – 300,000
1:20,000 – 375,000
1:10,000 – 750,000

  • Kindred – We consider the numbers to be a Minimal Ratio of 1:250,000 Kindred to Humans while the Maximum Ratio would be 1:10,000 and this would be very tight and require some serious policing to make sure feeding was limited, Progeny was outlawed etc. 1:20,000 seems to be the turning point when behaviour needs to be seriously curved. 1:50,000 is the safe limit and 1:100,000 is the easily safe limit.

Minor Talents > Vampires > Werewolves > Hunters >> Changelings > Mages > Demons > Sin-eaters > Mummies > Prometheans
